Chuck Swindoll, one of my favorite Bible teachers, once defined the Hebrew word for blessed as meaning “happiness many times over.” What a joy to imagine happiness layered upon happiness!
As followers of Christ, we can live joyfully, victoriously, and abundantly, because we live loved. Our eternal destiny is secure, our purpose transcends the day-to-day, and because of this, we are blessed.

Click To TweetLife in this world offers a taste of happy, but an eternal perspective brings a wider, deeper view reaching much further. Knowing Him means our temporary circumstances do not dictate our reality. We live for the high calling of bringing God glory. Our hearts and minds are fixated on Him, and that brings a life filled to the brim of happy upon happy. When Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty says, “Happy, happy, happy,” maybe he’s actually referring to something more along the lines of the Hebrew word ashri.
What comes to your mind when you think about being blessed? Family, friends, security? Salvation, provision, satisfaction? Whether your list is relational, emotional, financial, or spiritual, I pray you will arrive at the end of this month with more reasons to count yourself blessed. I pray the Spirit of God takes the Word of God and confirms in your heart what you already know in your head: You are blessed!

I am so blessed for the obvious reasons of my relationship with Jesus and my family but right now I am still in awe of how God healed my body 4 years ago and I have become an athlete. Every year I have gotten stronger and healthier as I age currently. It has been a wonderful journey and I have enjoyed that in my 30’s I feel better than I ever have with no pain. I lived with horrible pain and insomnia for over 8 years. I don’t take good sleep for granted. So thankful for what God has done and is doing in my life and how it has radically changed our family.
Lindsey! Thank you for sharing your story! I’m pausing to praise God for His provision in your life and asking Him to continue to bless you. Thank you for acknowledging His hand in your life. I’m asking Him to provide opportunities for you to share your story!
I’m so Blessed the way the Lord led me here to Siloam Springs! What I thought was punishment, turned out to be Immense Blessing as I continue to live out what his calling is for me and grow more mature in all areas of my life!!
He is so good and faithful! Thank you for sharing, Lee Anne!
