Welcome to A Reason For Homeschool, a new blog written BY and FOR women just like you—moms who love Jesus and love our kids! Our goal is to equip and encourage other moms in their home education journey. We invite you to take a moment to learn more about each of us, and hope you’ll join us in this new adventure!
Laura M
Laura & her husband Kevin have four amazing adult children, two precious daughters-in-love, & two GRANDchildren! After devoting 20 years to home education, she now teaches a weekly women’s Bible study & writes, speaks, & teaches through her non-profit, Cross My Heart Ministry. You can view Laura's weekly teaching on her YouTube channel. Laura is a CPA, a volunteer hospital chaplain, & has served as an adjunct professor at John Brown University. Her passion is encouraging women to love God & love His Word. You can connect with Laura at Laura@AReasonFor.com.
Bridgitt R
Bridgitt lives in the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks with her husband of 18+ years and their four blessings ranging in age from high school to a rambunctious 1st grader. She holds an AS, along with a Montessori teaching certificate, and has been privileged to homeschool for the last decade. Bridgitt has a passion for hands-on learning and an obsession, turned hoarding, of good books! When she can find the time, Bridgitt enjoys juicing, sprouting, grinding grains, dehydrating, and yogurt-making. She has a passion for the Gospel, and a desire to allow God to love the world through her.
Beth G
Beth is a full-time wife, mom of 3 daughters and a son (ages 11–22) & home educator for 16+ years. Raised near the Blue Ridge mountains in Virginia, she now lives in Oklahoma with her family, their menagerie of furry & feathered creatures, & far too many books. She holds a degree in English Literature from Wheaton College, learns with & from her kids, & volunteers for their local homeschool group. In rare moments of down time, Beth reads voraciously, collects (& uses!) cookbooks, & builds furniture with her talented husband of 29 years.
Wendy A
Wendy is mom to one 18-year-old princess, three sons aged 16, 13, and 11, and infant triplets (two girls, one boy!) born January 2018. She and her husband Fred have been married more than 20 years. Although they’ve traveled far and wide, they’re happiest settled in their farmhouse in the country, alongside a brook and fields of horses, in a tiny Arkansas town. Wendy is a 2nd-generation homeschooler and 3rd-generation John Brown University alumnus. She has worked as an art teacher, contributor to the local newspaper, volunteer for the crisis pregnancy center, and coordinator for the elementary homeschool group. Wendy is a trail runner, ugly crier, passionate prayer warrior, and snail mailer. Sunshine brings her joy.
Sam D
Samantha (Sam) is a born and bred Arkansas farmgirl. She has graduated all three of her amazing boys from homeschool, and now teaches biology and cooking to homeschool students. Cooking is a passion, especially sweets. Her boys always say she is the only mom to tell her kids not to eat too much supper because they need to have dessert. She also enjoys reading, sewing, gardening, and poking dead things with a stick. Seriously.
