When we introduced our monthly ‘Do It’ Lists in January, we did so with the hope that it would be a blessing to women of all ages. It is such a challenge to balance the demands of a household, family, and (for many of our readers) home education with your heart for serving and worshiping God. We know that time in His Word enables us to love and serve others well, but it’s difficult to find balance with so many responsibilities pressing upon us.

This month, we continue to welcome more ladies who have attended Laura’s convention workshop, Mary HEART + Martha Home = Peace & Joy, and were introduced to our ‘Do It’ Lists there. For their benefit (and ours), we want to recap where they can find in-depth explanations of each group of items covered on the list:

Daily tasks: Chores we believe many households need to do every day (doing a load of laundry, wiping kitchen counters, etc.) fall into this category. Each monthly list includes extra space to fill in jobs that are unique to your home and family, and we also publish a blank list every month that can be customized to meet your needs!

Weekly tasks: Jobs that don’t need attention every single day, but do need to be done on a regular basis. For example, cleaning the bathroom.

Monthly tasks: This section helps us keep on top of less frequent chores (such as cleaning out the refrigerator), as well as seasonal jobs like purging closets or gathering information for taxes.

For June, we’ve added WASH WINDOWS as one of our monthly tasks. This is another chore that most households don’t do often—and quite frankly, one that might fill you with dread depending on the size and design of your home!—but it also makes a tremendously noticeable difference when the job is completed. You’ll be glad you tackled it when the summer sun shines through your sparkling clean windows! This task might involve the whole family, so schedule a Saturday and get your husband and kids involved. If your weekends are too full, you might consider a window washing “co-op” with a friend. One week, you can help your buddy wash her windows (or maybe babysitting while the other one works is better!) and your house gets a turn the following week.

We pray these monthly ‘Do It’ Lists will continue to be a blessing and encouragement to you, and that you can bless your family in return with a healthy, peaceful home environment.

Just a final reminder: if you are attending any of the conventions where our sponsor will be exhibiting this summer, we’d love for you to stop by the A Reason For display booth to say hello and let us know how the ‘Do It’ List has helped your family!
